What is Apple Business Manager (ABM)?

Apple Business Manager is the newest initiative from Apple that allows IT administrators to manage content, Apple devices and people.  It is a web-based portal that allows users to deploy MacOS, tvOS and iOS in conjunction with their Mobile Device Management (MDM) software.  Apple Business Manager brings some of the features seen in the education platform to the enterprise, such as;

  • Managed Apple ID’s (ability to create and manage)
  • Improved role-based access to the portal
  • Multi-location support
  • Error and activity logging

Apple Business Manager (ABM) will eventually succeed and merge the DEP and VPP portals.  Apple Business Manager is currently in beta and you must be invited by Apple to access it.  We will provide updates here as we continue to find out more about Apple Business Manager (ABM)*
