MITRE 10 WANTED A NEW ONBOARDING EXPERIENCE

Mitre 10 was looking to leverage their Microsoft Intune environment to secure and manage Microsoft Surface devices using modern management and zero-touch provisioning technology.   

Mitre 10 had a good existing process but wanted to explore the latest device management capabilities included in their Microsoft 365 licenses to see what could be achieved. 

 

MOBILE MENTOR WAS BROUGHT IN BY MICROSOFT

Mobile Mentor is a specialist provider of Intune implementation services and was engaged by Microsoft. Mobile Mentor worked with Mitre 10 to complete an analysis of their current build process and configurations. Then Mobile Mentor designed a “golden profile” in Microsoft Intune which demonstrated the on-boarding and management of Windows 10 Microsoft Surface devices via the cloud.  

The solution included: 

  1. Creation of a design in Microsoft Intune based on Mitre 10’s unique requirements. 

  2. Configuration of Windows 10 devices via a “golden profile,” including AP, Intune, policies & Office 365 applications. 

  3. An Executive demonstration of the implemented solution showing a Surface device configuring over-the-air upon initial user login with zero touch from IT.  

  4. A knowledge transfer of the technology to Mitre 10 engineers. 

  5. As-built documentation of Mitre 10’s environment as implemented by Mobile Mentor. 

 

MITRE 10 CAN MOVE FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE

Mitre 10 has now seen the capabilities of Microsoft Intune and Zero-Touch Provisioning. Through the discovery, design, implementation, demonstration, and knowledge transfer from Mobile Mentor, Mitre 10 is now armed with knowledge of what the technology is capable of. 

Mitre 10 is now exploring a wider roll out of Microsoft Intune and Zero-Touch Provisioning. In addition, the groundwork is in place to allow for management of other devices like smartphones and tablets, including personal devices (BYOD). 

Mitre 10 employees will receive devices faster and Mitre 10 will gain increased visibility of their device fleet. Mobile Mentor is confident that Mitre 10 will lower costs and increase security, all while improving their employee experience!
