INNOVATION THROUGH MOBILE TECHNOLOGY
Auckland Airport operates one of the most successful airports in the world and consistently delivers strong performance for all its stakeholders. Innovation is a priority as the airport expands to cater for the sustained growth in traffic. Mobile technology is an important pillar for that innovation.
SECURE MOBILE APPS
Auckland Airport engaged Mobile Mentor to develop its mobility strategy. This resulted in a roadmap of initiatives to secure the current mobile environment using AirWatch mobile device management and secondly to accelerate mobile innovation using hybrid app development and Bluetooth beacon technology.
EVENT-DRIVEN MOBILITY
All devices are secured using a locally hosted AirWatch private cloud environment, hosted by Revera and managed by Mobile Mentor. A hybrid mobile application, deployed to iOS and Android devices was then integrated to iProximity to enable “event driven” mobility such as smart parking notifications. Apps developed for the Auckland Airport staff can easily be deployed, updated and supported over the air using the AirWatch platform.
