Managing mobile apps across the retail network

Mitre 10 has developed many mobile applications to enable stores to complete complex processes. These apps needed to be deployed and managed on mobile devices used in Mitre 10 stores countrywide. However, the cost of traditional “rugged” devices was affecting the uptake of mobility in retail stores for stock management, inventory, shop-floor and lookups. The legacy Mobile Device Management solution was out of support and could no longer be used to manage the latest mobile applications due to compatibility issues with older devices.

Designing a new solution

Mobile Mentor was engaged by Mitre 10 to deliver a new Mobile Device Management solution on a cloud hosted VMware Workspace ONE UEM platform. The Android Enterprise Recommended program offered several lower price rugged devices that could be made available to stores and allowed both mobile and web applications to be installed, removed and managed remotely.

Delivering success through Android Enterprise

Our solution provided the stores with the security and stability needed to deploy Mitre 10’s apps to a wider range of Android and iOS devices, while also offering more flexibility so that stores can add other local apps they need.
