POST-PERIMETER SECURITY FOR ALL USERS AND DEVICE TYPES
Security has now breached the perimeter and Device Technologies now needs to protect employees and devices regardless of location or device type. Having a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) tool was identified as the best way to solve this problem and protect end user compute assets and employees regardless of where they work.
Device Technologies desired seamless mobility and support of our assets for our teams – regardless of location and in an easy and manageable way while increasing security. This balance is generally difficult to achieve with security getting in the way of employee experience with the need to constantly doc to the mother ship for support, updates and help. Using Workspace One affords this freedom to our people to work and be productive in the appropriate work environment for them.
WORKING WITH MOBILE MENTOR
We brought on a partner to implement Workspace ONE – Mobile Mentor. What we appreciated most about working with Mobile Mentor was their ability to come into a complex situation, quickly ramp up, and deliver an outcome.
The deployment project went smoothly, and the team were fully committed to helping us meet our aggressive rollout times.
Mobile Mentor’s ability to ensure security while respecting the employee experience is one of my favourite parts of engaging with Mobile Mentor.
WERE YOU SURPRISED BY THE CAPABILITIES OF WORKSPACE ONE
We have been working with VMware for some years now and chose to expand our investment with them based on our previous experience and their leadership position in the market. We are now looking to further expand the capabilities of Workspace ONE by adding the Intelligence module.
We know that getting the basics right is the first step to success in modernisation. Mobile Device Management was a bleeding edge technology a few years ago but is now just expected by most. Ensuring we have the right platform (Workspace ONE) in place with the right partners (Macquarie Telecom and Mobile Mentor) sets us up to add modern device management to support both our macOS and Windows 10 devices across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. We are very excited about the next steps in modernising our business.
HOW HAS WORKSPACE ONE IMPACTED DEVICE TECHNOLOGIES
With a successful implementation of Workspace ONE, Device Technologies has gained mobility and the ability to resolve issues, get updates and on a regular basis through a secure environment for all our employees.
Further, Device Technologies has gained the ability to manage devices remotely, increasing our security posture – regardless of location. In turn, this is setting up the foundations for our business to leverage modern management.
Looking ahead
The very next step is Windows 10 and macOS support. With that in place we are looking to leverage the more advanced capabilities of the Intelligence module to further automate our security, app deployment and provisioning process.
